These are some terms you need to know if you are planning to vape.

E-liquid: Also known as vape juice or vape liquid, this is the fluid used in vaping devices that is heated to produce aerosol for inhalation. E-liquids typically contain nicotine, flavorings, and a base such as propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin.

Atomizer: The component of a vaping device responsible for heating the e-liquid and turning it into vapor. It usually consists of a coil (heating element) and a wick (often made of cotton) that absorbs the e-liquid.

Coil: A heating element within the atomizer that heats the e-liquid to the point of vaporization. Coils can be made of various materials such as kanthal, stainless steel, nickel, or titanium.

Mods: Short for modifications, mods are advanced vaping devices that offer more customization options compared to standard e-cigarettes. They often allow users to adjust settings like wattage, voltage, and temperature.

Nicotine Strength: Refers to the concentration of nicotine in e-liquid, usually measured in milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml). Common strengths range from 0 mg/ml (nicotine-free) to 50 mg/ml or higher.

PG/VG Ratio: The ratio of propylene glycol (PG) to vegetable glycerin (VG) in e-liquid. PG provides a throat hit and carries flavor better, while VG produces thicker vapor. Ratios like 50/50, 70/30, or 80/20 are common.

Drip Tip: The mouthpiece of a vaping device where the user inhales vapor. Drip tips come in various shapes and sizes and can be made of materials like plastic, metal, or delrin.

Steeping: A process where e-liquid is left to sit and mature over time to enhance flavor. Steeping allows the ingredients to blend and develop more complex flavors.

Sub-ohm: Refers to vaping with a coil resistance below 1.0 ohm. Sub-ohm vaping typically produces larger clouds of vapor and can result in a warmer vape experience.

Cloud Chasing: A vaping technique focused on producing large vapor clouds. Cloud chasers often use high-powered devices, low-resistance coils, and e-liquids with high VG content to achieve impressive vapor production.
